So I decided to create a blog. Following the journey I described in the previous post, and some advice that prompted me to start considering owning the content I produce, this seemed like the only solution. Having “why” covered, I still had several unanswered questions, “how” being the prime among them. This post is here to document my tumultuous road (mostly for my future self, but if anyone’s present selves can benefit from it, so much the better).

The Journey to this Blog

Being the millennial that I am, this blog is not my first foray into publishing my thoughts online. My hope, however, is that it will be the last one, at least for a while.

Exceedingly Humble Beginnings

My journey starts with a long-dead Israeli blogging platform cleverly named IsraBlog. While the service seems to be (barely) alive online, I wasn’t able to find my angst-infused teenage thoughts on it. Probably for the better, that.

The creation of this blog was inspired by the desire to be in control of the content I produce online. I enjoyed using Medium for the Anti-Content publication (spoilers: I’m going to be cross-posting a bunch of the articles from that blog here), but any website that has ultimate and arbitrary control of the content is a liability.
